Florence Champions

What is a Florence Champion?

Florence Champions are experienced Florence users who provide local support, advice and guidance to research teams in their department, specialty or research area.
Your local Florence Champion is your first point of contact for:
  • accessing Florence
  • setting up an eISF
  • assigning roles and permissions
  • using Florence
  • resolving system or process queries
If your Champion cannot resolve an issue, the Champion will contact the JRMO Florence team on your behalf.

Becoming a Florence Champion

Florence Champions play an important role in supporting the effective and consistent use of Florence across Barts Health.
The role is generally most suitable for experienced research-team members who understand Florence, research delivery, local processes and governance requirements.
Florence Champions are expected to:
  • be confident and experienced Florence users
  • understand local research processes and documentation requirements
  • be recognised within their area as a trusted source of advice and guidance
  • support colleagues in adopting good practice
  • act as a link between local teams and the central JRMO team
Expressions of interest are welcome from anyone who is enthusiastic about Florence and interested in supporting its use.

Before you can be granted Florence Champion permissions, you must:
  1. speak to the JRMO
  2. complete the eISF Training for Implementation Team in Flo University
  3. successfully complete a proficiency assessment in the Florence testing environment
  4. sign the Champions delegation log in the Florence live environment
Completing the online training alone does not automatically give you Champion permissions. You must also complete the proficiency assessment and sign the Champions delegation log.
